Genie’s never been one to let her age dictate what she can do. For her seventieth birthday the spirited 73-year-old decided to buy a road bike, and as motivation, she joined an organized cycling team filled with people half her age.
After training for four months, Genie was elated after finishing a milestone, 72-mile ride around Lake Tahoe, but frustrated that even with biking and the gym five days a week she could not lose a single pound or get ahead in her training.
“I had to work so much harder to keep up with these 35-year-olds,” says the staunch competitor. “It made me angry because I would do everything the coach said and more and I still couldn’t ride as fast as they could.
Genie discovered Isagenix® a year later after overhearing a woman, with “a figure to die for,” sing its praise. Thinking of her doctor’s suggestion to do a liver cleanse, which she found to be too restrictive and hard, Genie heard the words ‘liver,’ ‘nutritional cleansing,’ and ‘easy’ and was immediately interested in finding out more about Isagenix.
In three months she lost 15 pounds, 37 inches and four percent body fat.* Her stubborn midsection, which she could not whittle down with exercise alone, was no longer a problem area for the energetic grandmother who still had the stamina to do a 10-mile bike ride at 6 p.m. then go back to working her consulting business until well into the night. But the biggest difference was in her recovery time after cycling.
“We were training in the hills and I couldn’t stay awake on the drives home,” recalls Genie. “On Isagenix I would do a couple Want More Energy?® Sticks and then an IsaLean® Shake when I finished. I was riding 50 to 70 miles with people half my age. Not only could I get home without falling asleep I didn’t have to take a nap. My cycling buddies are all amazed at how I look and say they want to be me like me when they grow up.”
These days Genie bikes two to three times a week and saves the rest of her energy for her Isagenix business. The Crystal Executive has been dropping in on doctors, salons and gyms to reach her goal of 3-Star Crystal Executive by January 2010.
